Ladbrokes Back The Bully Wee
Clyde FC are delighted to announce an interesting and innovative partnership with Ladbrokes the bookmakers. Their two branches in Cumbernauld Town Centre will be promoting the club at every opportunity and have introduced special betting packages for all Clyde games – half-time/full-time result, 1st scorer, correct score forecast etc.
In addition, on matchday, for all home games, both branches will be decorated in Clyde colours and the staff will be kitted out in home shirts as they try to tempt the punters into betting on our matches. For those who come up trumps with a correct score forecast, Ladbrokes will add a 10% bonus to their winning returns.
To launch this initiative, Ladbrokes offered Clyde a charity bet of £50 each way at 33/1 for us to win the league (ok – no quips please!). Any winnings on 1st or 2nd place will be shared with our nominated charity, the Scottish Spina Bifida Association (SSBA). Colin Hendry went along to Ladbrokes together with a couple of players; Club Captain Neil McGregor and his brother Calum, a promising young defender on the fringes of the first team.
This is all designed to further increase the profile of the club within the community in an attempt to stimulate some interest in the team and improve our attendances. For the club’s part, we will introduce a poster campaign advertising upcoming home matches throughout the season and these will be prominently displayed in Ladbrokes branches in the week leading up to to the games. A number of other outlets have also been identified and we will extend the posters to various locations around the town – who knows, we may well see a few new faces at games shortly.
