Clyde 2 v 2 Oldham Athletic

It was honours even at Broadwood tonight in a well contested friendly match that started well for The Bully Wee. After just 2 minutes a cross from the right wasn’t cleared and a Latics defender headed the ball back past ‘keeper Mark Crossley to give Clyde the lead.

Oldham equalised through a breakaway on the left and then produced some of their best football of the match.

After half-time, Gary Arbuckle, playing as a trialist, gave Clyde the lead again when he anticipated a short back pass and slipped the ball past Crossley. Colin Hendry would have been disappointed with the visitors’ second goal, which came via a header direct from a corner.

Clyde fielded a number of trialists during the match, giving a decent sized home support in the 659 crowd a chance to see some potential signing targets in action.
