Gretna 0 v 0 Clyde

Clyde’s excellent defensive record continued this afternoon when The Bully Wee thwarted Gretna’s title celebrations. The Raydale side may be the division’s big spenders but they couldn’t buy a goal as the Bully Wee defences held firm.

Clyde started the stronger taking advantage of Gretna’s nerves but were unable to score. The Broadwood side’s season long problem of not taking chances continued and Clyde were nearly made to pay in the second half as Gretna desperately bombarded David Hutton’s goal. It was all to no avail however as determined defending and poor finishing meant the points were shared in a goalless draw.

It was another excellent performance by a depleted side and the team’s newest addition, Ruari MacLennan, almost capped a fine display with a winning goal but his late shot from distance was tipped over the bar by ‘keeper Malkowski.
