Joe Looking Forward
The website tracked down Joe Miller after what has been an extraordinary time at the club: “It has been an extremely busy time and talks are continuing with others but it will be good to get back to concentrating on the action on the pitch.”
Joe was delighted with the outcome of recent contract talks, “I think it’s important for the fans to know just how committed the team are for Clyde. They are loyal and have not forgotten where they were at the start of last season. They don’t want to go anywhere else.”
Joe continued, “They know they can either progress with Clyde or move up when the time is right. The guys want to continue to work at their game and are not interested in sideways moves. It is not all about money.”
Joe added, “I’m really pleased that the squad is taking shape for next year. Alex Williams was desperate to return. He is a great trainer and has worked extremely hard since returning. Even last weekend when he knew he wasn’t going to play he worked harder than ever. He wants to be here.”
Another forward that Joe mentioned was youngster Sean McKenna, “I think he has a great future, he wants to be a footballer so much, that he deserves this chance. Ask any of the squad how dedicated Sean is and they will agree. He has worked so hard to get this opportunity from his time as a skillseeker onwards. It has been hard recently for him as he went down with the mumps and he currently has a slight knee injury but his attitude is spot on. Sean will be back challenging for a first team place before long. He is indicative of the type of player we need at this club.
“I hope the events of the last few days show how determined we are to succeed as a club and we need the fans to know that.”
Speaking of Paul McHale’s decision to leave, Joe commented “Paul has decided to go and I’ll sleep on whether I’ll select him. The fans can be assured I will do the best for the team.”
