Miller Echoes Praise

Joe Miller today echoed the praise given to Clyde supporters by Director John Ruddy this week. “It was great to see so many of them at McDiarmid Park and they gave us tremendous support,” he told the website. “I’d like to thank them all for turning up and hope to see them back every week. They should be very proud of the boys – and I think they were.”

“We didn’t get the silverware but the effort and performance deserved it. We can be upbeat about our league challenge now. We turned it into a positive as soon as the penalties were finished. I got the players into a huddle and told them I was proud of them and that cup finals are a bonus.

“We had four players out and lost Eddie during the match and we can take heart from that. There’s a lot to play for now. If we continue to all stand together and keep playing football there’ll be more finals for the players and they’ll win them.

“It’s back to business with the First Division this week and I can assure fans that the boys will be even more determined now to try and win the league; that’s got to be the aim for this club. We are good enough to do it.”

Meanwhile the club were concerned to hear that Bully Wee stalwart Tommy Louden, 80 this week, had been involved in a serious accident on his way home from the match. Dougie Imrie, Craig Bryson, Ryan McCann and David Hutton visited him in hospital and Joe was keen to wish him all the best for a speedy recovery from all of the playing staff.
