Clyde V Morton

Clyde have two injury worries for Wednesday night’s clash with Morton in the Challenge Cup semi final. Andrew Ferguson was substituted against Queen of the South because of the effect of a virus and he is still not 100%, while Dougie Imrie sustained a knock at the weekend. Both players are vital for the Bully Wee cause and Miller will give them every chance to be included in the starting line up.

Certainly Joe wants to build on Saturday’s performance, “I thought we did well especially in the second half we had a chat with the lads at halftime and we went on to win well. The last time we went to Dumfries it was a bad night we passed the ball around well but schoolboy errors cost us dearly. But on Saturday we defended far better and got the goals at the right time. Although we should have won by more I was still delighted with getting the three points. It was important for us to maintain the level of performance reached in the second half against Ross County and we did that.”

“I hope the match with Morton gives people a chance to recognise the progression this squad has made. The guys have matured as individuals and as a group.”

“Wednesday is a huge game for us just before a month of huge games as it sees us play the top teams and some local derbies. We are on the verge of a final and these occasions do not come often so the players are desperate to succeed and I have every confidence in them.”
