Getting Ready
Joe Miller is very hopeful that the club will be in a far better position to compete this Saturday against Partick Thistle at Broadwood. “Our application and standard of play was undoubtedly a disappointment against Dundee but our cause wasn’t helped by injury and suspension.”
“Eddie Malone and Michael McGowan were suspended. Craig McKeown has been missing since the start of the season but he was joined on the sidelines by Craig Bryson (pictured left) who failed a fitness test on the morning before the game and during the warm up Stephen O’Donnell
“As a club we don’t have the squad to cope with 6 absences, especially players who normally are the backbone of the side but I am hopeful that some will return for Saturday’s important match.”
“I appreciate that some will dismiss that as excuses but those are the facts and that is what we were up against on Sunday. We have had to rely heavily on fringe players and youths to date”
Joe is aware that the squad needs strengthening, “We are looking at players and have had a number of trialists training with us. I am keen to add to the squad and will do my best to do this by the weekend. We are determined and focussed in bringing in a positive result on Saturday and I would urge the supporters in getting right behind the team for this crucial derby match.”
Joe Miller spoke at length to the website and the full interview will be on the site tomorrow evening.
