Good Weekend
Victory is always pleasing combined with scoring ten goals, conceding none while the fans bathed in warm sunshine simply added to the pleasure of the weekend’s tournament win in East Kilbride.
Clyde’s assistant manager Joe Miller commented, “It’s been a good workout for the lads and I’m really pleased we’ve won the trophy. We approached it in the correct manner and worked very hard so it was a great performance overall in the two games. It helps our pre-season preparations by getting us a couple more
“The players did everything I’ve asked them to in passing the ball around and now we’ve started scoring a few goals so that’s a good thing too. I also played some of the youngsters and I was impressed with how they performed as it looks as though they’ve started to pick up some good habits.”
As you would expect it was the players charged with the responsibility of creating chances and pressurising the opponents’ defence who stood out. Stevie Masterton (right) and Paul McHale looked strong in midfield while Kevin Bradley (left) took the plaudits for an excellent performance in the final on Sunday.
Clyde’s pre season work continues with a closed door match against Stranraer at Broadwood tonight.
