Tour Update
A press conference was held in Canada on Tuesday to formally welcome Clyde and announce details of the forthcoming CPSL exhibition schedule. As well as Clyde three other sides from Europe will be playing exhibition games during the next three weeks in Toronto, London and Windsor and this was confirmed by the Canadian Professional Soccer League at the press conference on Tuesday.
Clyde, Braga, Santa Clara and Angrense from Portugal, are all confirmed. The Bully Wee attended the press conference at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan. The squad arrived last Sunday after playing its last league game of the season against Stranraer the day before. The three Portuguese teams will arrive over the next two weeks.
Braga has drawn world-wide attention while bidding for the Portuguese championship and
“Exhibition games involving high profile visiting teams are important to the development of soccer in this country and important opposition to the CPSL All Stars as we develop an All Star team that we believe will soon be the strongest team in Canada,” CPSL commissioner Cary Kaplan announced to the media gathering.
