Clyde 1 Stranraer 1

Craig McKeown was the last gasp hero for Clyde as the centre half turned goalscorer for the Bully Wee heading in his first goal for the club in the final minute of the season. Despite a last minute equaliser it would be wrong to suggest that this was a thrilling clash but nevertheless the club was pleased to avoid defeat.

Graham Roberts was equally relaxed at the end of the game, “We tried everything to get a goal as we went for broke in the second half and eventually got it when we threw our centre half up front!”

“Stranraer did not surprise us as that is how they set out their stall. They have part time players, (please note I said part time players!) and they have to make it tough for others. We dominated possession but lost a terrible goal and in truth it was a flat first half. It looked like we were getting nothing until Craig (pictured left) intervened but I can’t fault any of my boys.”

“As I’ve said some of these lads haven’t played in more than a handful of first team games before this season now they have featured in 30 odd matches and that has been a huge challenge mentally and physically for them but they have all done extremely well.”

“Now we will continue our preparations for next season. We’re in Canada for 10 days and will be back at Broadwood for a couple days after that when we will be talking to the squad before taking a break.”

Graham also confirmed that Stevie Masterton has been offered and agreed terms with the club for next season.
