“Clyde Football Club has been overwhelmed by the number of Celtic fans worldwide who have called or emailed to congratulate Clyde on their performance in the recent Scottish Cup tie. It has been a humbling experience.” Those were the words of club secretary John Taylor as he reflected on what has been a remarkable period for the Bully Wee.

John continued. “Celtic fans are renowned for their fair mindedness and knowledge of the game and that reputation has been reinforced in the last seven days.”

Clyde’s praise was also aimed at the players and staff of Celtic, “We’d also like to place on record our admiration for the professionalism shown by the Celtic management team and players after the match.”

“In particular, thanks go to Roy Keane for taking the time to sign autographs for all the youngsters who had waited more in hope than expectation after what had been a disappointing day for the Club.For our young players embarking on what we hope will be successful careers, they could have no better role model.”
