Loan Arranger? Not Settling For Silver!

Graham Roberts is eagerly awaiting what he describes as one of the toughest fortnights the Club has faced. Despite the cup tie with Celtic looming, the Manager insists the players are focussed on getting first prize and that means applying pressure to St Mirren over the festive period.

“Brechin will be very tough; they are going to bounce back one week. We’ve played them three times this season so we know what to expect. We haven’t beaten them at Glebe Park yet so the players are under no illusions. I gather the scoreline at Airdrie flattered the home side as half the goals came in the last 20 minutes. Sometimes that happens but it doesn’t mean we can take it easy. It’s the opposite in fact. The players are desperate to play and as ever are looking forward to the challenge.”

Graham is continuing to work hard in freshening up the squad during the transfer window. “At the moment I’m focussing on three potential loan deals; two players from the SPL and one from the Premiership down south. One is a forward the other two are defenders and hopefully we can secure these transfers. One of the managers is keen for the deal to go through, another is talking to some other sides and I’m speaking to the Premiership manager today.”

Graham concluded: “The key thing is whether the player wants to come and will add quality to the squad in order to boost the team for the coming months. I’ve done my homework and have seen plenty of games to judge players and I can assure you we will bring in the skills needed to improve us.”
