Clyde Head For Ibrox In Cis Cup
Clyde got the dream draw in this afternoon’s televised CIS Cup Third Round draw when “Rangers” was followed by “Clyde” .
Celebrations all round, but one man at Broadwood was not in the least surprised. Earlier in the day, his 100th day in charge of Clyde, manager Graham Roberts was totally confident: “Trust me,” he said using his favourite phrase, “we’ll get Rangers!”
Graham’s young team, described in less than complimentary terms in yesterday’s Scottish Daily Mail as “rag, tag and bobtail Clyde” are now fourth top of the League, a further three points gained this afternoon and a draw which will thrust the spotlight on “Graham”s Gems”.
Quite an afternoon for the Bully Wee!
The full draw is:
Kilmarnock v Dunfermline Athletic
Livingston v Heart of Midlothian
Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dundee United
Stranraer v Aberdeen
Celtic v Falkirk
Ayr United v Hibernian
Rangers v Clyde
St Mirren v Motherwell
Ties will be played on 20/21 September.
