Clyde will take on CIS Cup holders Rangers at Ibrox on Tuesday 20 September, kick off 7.45pm. Other details regarding the tie are yet to be confirmed and these will be announced on this website as soon as possible
The Bully Wee Manager, like every Clyde fan, feels it’s the best possible draw. “This is a great game for the Club and a great game for me personally. There was only one club I wanted to play in this round and that was Rangers.”
“I was ecstatic when the draw came out last Saturday. We won’t go and just defend. We want to play our normal game, pass the ball about and have a go.”
“Clyde will obviously benefit financially as well so we couldn’t be happier at the moment. Now we want to leave the Ibrox pitch at the end of the game with our heads held high.”
The Clyde boss highlighted what the draw meant to the ex-Rangers trio of Tom Brighton, Andrew Dick and skipper Paul McHale. “Tom, Andy and Paul were jumping higher than anyone else when the draw was made. They are delighted to be playing against their old club and they deserve this chance to be honest.”
“This game is for all the boys at Clyde, they deserve to go to venues like Ibrox. As I said, it a dream come true for this club and I can’t wait for the game. Hopefully we get a good crowd as well.”
