United Assurance May Mean Rio Returns

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to Clyde director Frank Dunn this week to assure Bully Wee fans that the United squad heading to Broadwood in July will be one to savour.

Commercial Manager Jack Rolland was happy to confirm the conversation. “Interest in the game is high and Sir Alex personally phoned Frank to say that the squad travelling to Cumbernauld will feature several first team regulars members of the first team squad and some of the Old Trafford squad expected to make a breakthrough this season.”

It could of course mean a return to Broadwood for classy central defender Rio Ferdinand who once featured for West Ham United in a previous pre-season friendly against Clyde. Regardless it is sure to be a memorable day and with the possibility of another English side coming to Broadwood as well as the Scottish champions Rangers it is shaping up to be a special pre-season as the Bully Wee prepare for the 2005/06 campaign.
