Call Me The Entertainer

Speaking in front of a packed audience in the Broadwood suite tonight, Graham Roberts left fans in no doubt regarding his ambitions for next season. “I want my team to entertain and play with the right style. Our squad will be predominantly young and hungry with a backbone of experience but I can assure the fans they players selected will know what they have to do and will not let the support down.”

Roberts, who confirmed that trials have been set up at Broadwood next week so he can run the rule over nearly 60 players, was adamant that he will not settle for second best. “The players selected will be treated like kings but will run onto the pitch in our first competitive match against Brechin fully aware of what is expected of them.”

Robert’s player budget has been cut but that does not mean he is at the helm of a club in crisis. “The Board and Trust have been fantastic in saving this club and I’m manager at a club with no debt, working within its means, looking forward to the season starting. This club is on the up and I feel honoured that the Board have put their faith in me.”

Roberts continued: “Players want to play and Joe (Miller) and myself will leave no stone unturned in getting the right people in. That means we will travel throughout the UK to identify who can bring quality to the side.”

The popular Englishman knows he has a tough act to follow due to Clyde’s consistent success in the First Division over the last five seasons but he is assured that the Club has the right people in charge and in partnership with the fans he will give 110% so that all will have a pride in the Clyde.
