Reid Rocked By Injury Woe
Clyde’s preparations for tomorrow afternoon’s clash with Hamilton have been badly affected by injuries to key players. Manager Billy Reid, already having to contend with the suspension of Simon Mensing, is also likely to be without Gary Bollan, Gary Arbuckle, Stuart Balmer and Jimmy Gibson.
“The absence of Jimmy is a particular blow as he was looking great in training until his ankle injury flared up on Thursday,” Billy commented. “Looking on the positive side tomorrow will see the return of Craig Bryson to the first team squad. He has had a full week of training and is looking back to his old self which is a great boost”.
Billy continued: “Tomorrow also gives Scott Wilson an opportunity to get back into the first team. He was an important member of the side earlier in the season. Unfortunately he had a slight dip in form which coincided with him carrying a few niggling injuries.”
Billy was in no doubt that tomorrow will be a tough challenge. “Hamilton will be fighting for the points and the law of averages suggest that after we’ve won the last three matches then it would be no surprise if Hamilton got something but we will be trying hard to not let that happen.
“Indeed,” concluded Billy, “Miguel has looked good though a first team game is different from training, Toastie (Alex Burns) is looking good and Ian Harty and Graham Jones are both looking the better of having a short break, so despite some of the injury problems I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow.”
