Back To Work
It’s back to work tomorrow for Clyde players with no Bank Holiday respite.
Billy confirmed with some relief that at last it should be back to normal at training for the Bully Wee squad. “With playing so many matches in such a short space of time the training programme was extremely limited but now we can get back to heavier training and more ball work.”
That relief though was tempered with the news that the Clyde manager’s planning will have to take account a number of suspensions in the weeks to come. “Simon Mensing will have to sit out from our next two matches,” Billy confirmed. “Eddie Malone will also have to serve a two match suspension and Darren Sheridan will miss one game. I’ll get confirmation this week about the games that Darren and Eddie will miss.”
Clyde fans, courtesy of Scotsport’s Football First, will have watched with interest the handling of some other recent First Division matches. Billy refused to be drawn but noted that “suspensions are part and parcel of the game and certainly some of the bookings received have been deserved. I guess what all players look for is consistency.”
Suspensions apart, the Clyde boss will also need to assess the readiness of Jimmy Gibson (ankle), Scott Wilson (thigh) and Craig Bryson (asthma) as well as gauging the form of Spaniard Miguel Angel Espinola. As the playing staff have rested over the last few days it looks certain that Billy will be kept extremely busy prior to Saturday.
The Official Clyde FC Website will work to keep fans posted about the latest player news in the week ahead as the club prepares for the clash with Hamilton Accies at Broadwood on Saturday.
