Bully Wee manager Billy Reid spoke to the website as Clyde prepared for their vital cup clash against Ross County. Success or failure will have repercussions and the last time we played in such a significant match we failed to perform. Can we do it this time?

Billy commented: “The game you are talking about was our match against Inverness. In my opinion, it was the biggest game in Clyde’s history and we didn’t perform. Inverness deserved to win as Caley’s players were focussed on getting the result to go up”.

“I’ve got my own feelings on why we didn’t perform that day,” the Clyde boss stated, “one aspect was that we went into that game, after all the difficulties behind the scenes, with players unsure of their futures. Indeed three had signed pre-contract agreements with other sides. I’m not saying those guys didn’t give 100% but maybe that collective uncertainty gave the other team an edge. All of Inverness were playing to win in order for them to go up and play in the SPL”.

“On Tuesday we will go into the match with no distractions. We know the reward. Personally, I would love to achieve a victory for all the people behind the scenes. I know I moan about the size of the squad or the lack of contract talks but these people are working so hard and along with the fans saved this club this time last year.

“It will be difficult,” Billy concluded. “Ross County are a very talented side, equally desperate for success, but I can assure the Clyde supporters that the players will give their all to try and get the positive result and gain that prize for the fans”.
