Clyde 2 V 1 Ross County
Clyde are through to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1988.
A classic Gary Arbuckle goal just after the start of extra time was enough to give Clyde a 2-1 win after County had deservedly gone ahead in the seventeenth minute via a blistering twenty-five yard free kick from John Rankin.
Clyde fought their way back into the game but the equaliser came in slightly bizarre circumstances when play almost came to a halt when a handled ball from a Darren Sheridan effort seemed sure to be penalised with a spot kick. The whistle didn’t come, and Craig Bryson didn’t wait, as he slotted the ball home to bring Clyde level in the thirty-fifth minute.
Although Clyde were the better side after the break, and despite a late flourish from County, it remained at 1-1 after ninety minutes, then substitute Gary Arbuckle (pictured) struck from twenty-five yards out to give Clyde the lead, a lead which means Celtic will be coming to Broadwood on 27 February.
