Falkirk V Clyde Match Preview
Clyde boss Billy Reid was relieved to tell the website this evening that he has a full squad to pick from for the eagerly awaited fixture against Falkirk. “We got a great boost when Craig Bryson and Ian Harty were passed fit and I think even Gary Arbuckle is going to be available now. Gary Bollan is also free from suspension”.
The Manager is certainly looking forward to the match. “I’m sure it is going to be a great game. Falkirk will certainly be out to avenge their cup defeat and we will need to stand up for ourselves. The first goal will be vital but we are happier now as we feel that we have a better cutting edge up front”.
Billy has confidence in his players. “The squad has done magnificently. It breaks my heart to think that because of the financial constraints at the Club, I’m not in a position to offer these guys new deals at the moment but, regardless of that fact, I know their commitment”.
Billy mentioned the form of two of his squad. “Bryn Halliwell has improved greatly and is growing in confidence every week. Eddie Malone is also performing well. In Eddie’s case I think it’s taken some of the fans a wee while to appreciate what he is doing for the team. Eddie can play in a variety of positions and is learning all the time but is benefiting from regular first team action. People forget his age as he is only a year older than Craig Bryson and is actually younger than Mark Gilhaney. I think Eddie has been in great form in the last few weeks”.
That form will be needed as Clyde face a huge task in taking on Falkirk. The Bairns are undefeated at their new stadium but Clyde are not entering the match in fear.
It appears that ex-Clyde manager Alan Kernaghan has signed in time to feature
