League-Topping Clyde – More Post-Match Reaction

The website’s Cammy Macdonald was a busy man after the match yesterday and in addition to Manager Billy Reid he managed to catch up with Saints’ manager John Connelly plus Clyde’s Aron Wilford and Ian Harty

Aron Wilford’s comments:
“It was a good three points for us as they battered us a little in the second half, but we just dug in and showed what we can do and cleverly hit them on the break a few times.

“We had a few chances to get the second goal including my own when I probably showed have finished it at 2-0 but overall it was a good performance.

“The conditions were certainly difficult but you just need to adapt to whatever conditions you are playing in and fight for the three points.

“We go into every game looking to win and that’s the type of players we have at the club. The players we have here are winners and they all want to win every game. I can’t remember much about Darren’s goal but Harty did well to find him just outside the box and it was a great finish.

John Connolly’s comments:
We just have to keep working hard. We changed things today because we have been worried about the lack of creativity in the side recently. But today was difficult day to play football with the way the wind was blowing.

“I am not being disrespectful to Clyde, but I don’t see them being ten points better of than we are. All credit to them as they have worked hard to be where they are but there wasn’t much in the game today.

“We need a wee spark, and someone who is going to create something. I am convinced had we scored first we would have gone on and won the game but there is a two week break now and we just need to try to get a better points total in the last
