Another Award

Clyde midfielder Alex Walker has been named as Bell’s Young Player of the Month for September. This afternoon it was confirmed that for the second consecutive month Clyde have received an award from League sponsors Bells. Following Billy Reid’s award foe Manager of the Month for August, on loan Ranger Alex Walker got the prize for best young player.

Billy Reid talked exclusively to the Clyde website. “I’m pleased for Alex and delighted for the rest of the team as they are once again getting recognition for the effort that they have put in this season. In truth Alex struggled initially but I’ve seen Alex play for Rangers U21s on a regular basis and I knew what he was capable of and the last few games have hinted at his quality.

“With the exception of Bryn, I thought Alex was our outstanding player against Dundee United. He has great pace and works hard and these are the attributes that I look for in my players.”

Alex, who began his six month loan spell on 20 August, missed out on Clyde’s victory against St Johnstone but he is now back to full fitness and is desperate to return to first team action if selected against Raith Rovers.
