Reid All About The Queens Match

Billy Reid spoke to the website’s Cammy Macdonald after the Queen of the South game.

“I think we played very well in the first half and to be honest I was disappointed we didn’t kill them off. I think we played very good football in the first forty-five minutes but we did not take our chances. But credit to Queens for the way they came back and they looked very strong.

“It was a scrappy goal which won it though we could have had a couple more. One in particular, when their keeper had a good save from a Bryson header, and also a great save from Arbuckle in the second half.

“Karim was kicked all over the place on Tuesday night and was still a bit sore. We took a chance on him but he was not feeling right so there was no point in him going on. But I am delighted to get Aaron Conway, who came on for Karim, I have looked at Aaron for a while. I have him on loan until January and I think he will be a good asset to the squad.

“I thought he played well today and was unlucky not to score. I am happy to play young players who have a bit of hunger about them. But we have guys like Sheridan and Bollan who are experienced players and also have Stuart Balmer to come back in. It’s a good blend.

“I knew we would get a hard game from Queens as we always do at Palmerston but I am delighted we have had three clean sheets in a row. I thought our keeper was fantastic today and made a couple of excellent saves. His attitude has been excellent so far this season and all credit to him. I really can’t speak any more highly of him.

“Our back four has been solid so far this season and John Potter has been getting back to full fitness. But today we had a couple of leaks and that’s what Bryn is there for.
