Rath Rovers 2 V 3 Clyde
Clyde made it six points out of six from the first two matches in the Bell’s First Division campaign when they travelled through to Kirkcaldy this afternoon and won 3-2. The victory makes them the only team in the Division with a 100% record and takes them to top spot.
A goal by promising youngster Craig Bryson after four minutes gave Clyde just the start they were hoping for at Stark’s Park. The Manager had promised to play for a win against the Rovers and that outcome looked more likely in the forty-second minute when last season’s top scorer Ian Harty converted from the penalty spot to put Clyde 2-0 ahead at half-time.
Twelve minutes after the re-start captain John Potter made it 3-0 and it looked good for the Bully Wee but Sacko pulled one back for Raith in the seventy-ninth minute, to begin a less than enjoyable last twenty-one minutes for the travelling support.
The atmosphere grew even more tense six minutes later when John Potter conceded an own goal but that completed the scoring.
