With the transfer window about to re-open for the month of January, the majority of the under-19 squad have been made available for free transfer.
Charlie Clark, Robert Halliday, Chris Sloman, Mark McIlroy, Sean Maguire, Billy Reid, John Baird and Chris Zok have been told they won’t be offered new contracts at the end of the season and therefore have been given extra time to find a new club before May.
Alan Kernaghan said:-
“Some are being released for football reasons and others for their general attitude, which aren’t what I feel is appropriate for a professional footballer.”
Just two out of contract players – Graeme McCracken and David Greenhill – will be offered news deals and will remain at the club along with the summer’s new introductions from the under-16s (Alastair Martin, Craig Bryson and Kevin Bradley).
