Friendly Performances Please Kernaghan

Two bounce games have been played in the last 24 hours, giving the majority of the squad some extra match action ahead of the blank weekend.

Last night, a young “reserve” side took on a full strength Alloa team and came away with a credible 1-1 draw. Alan Kernaghan, who came on as a substitute, scored Clyde’s goal. Click here for the line-up.

A Motherwell side featuring 6 or 7 players who started their SPL match against Rangers at the weekend were beaten 2-1 by the Bully Wee’s first team squad this morning. Jim Gibson scored again and Pat Keogh also got his name on the scoresheet. Ian Harty came close to making the result more comfortable when he hit the bar. The Manager spoke to the website about both matches this evening:-

“We were great in both matches. I’m delighted, especially with today’s performance. We really played well, despite some daft refereeing decisions, and never gave them a second on the ball. It was a good confidence booster.

“A young side did very well against Alloa last night also. It was a pleasing performance.

“We’ll work hard on Friday and then on Monday and Tuesday again before the Dundee match, which we’re all looking forward to eagerly.”
