Stef – It’S Clyde For Me
Goal hero Stephen McConalogue has issued a plea to club officials to give him a new contract; despite offers from elsewhere. The 21-year-old bagged an impressive double at Ayr yesterday to stake his claim for a permanent deal, and insisted there is more to come.
Speaking after the match, he said:-
“My time is over at Dundee United. I spoke to Ian McCall and he just wished me all the best.”
“I’ve had offers from an SPL club and a few First Division clubs, but I’d rather stay at Clyde. I’ve always wanted to play at the top level, but I’ve been there with Dundee United and haven’t enjoyed it. I can learn my trade here, and maybe even make the step up again with Clyde next season.”
“I’ve not enjoyed my football for a few years now, but that is changing now at Clyde. It didn’t happen for me earlier in the season, but now that I have managed to get a run of games I think I have showed what I am capable of.”
