First Summer Signing

Former Stranraer striker Ian Harty signed a two year deal with the club today and is Alan Kernaghan’s first new addition to the squad for the 2003/04 campaign.

Harty, 25, started his career at Hearts but has been a prolific goalscorer for Stranraer in recent years. A fall-out with then boss Billy McLaren led to his recent departure from Stair Park, and Clyde are delighted to beat a number of clubs who were chasing him and secure his services.

Alan Kernaghan said:-

“He gives us another option, and is the 20-goals-a-season type of player that everyone is looking for at the moment. We hope he can settle in quickly and be a big player for us next season.”

Ian has scored 19 goals in the each of his last three seasons for Stranraer, a record that would be highly valuable to The Bully Wee if he can continue it.
