Clyde 2 V 1 St.Johnstone

Clyde continued their impressive rise up the First Division table today by beating St.Johnstone to move into 2nd place, and confirmed Falkirk as Champions in the process.

Overall, the match wasn’t the best seen at Broadwood this season but two Bully Wee goals – a fine header by John Potter from a Jack Ross corner, and an Andy Millen strike – lit up the first half. Stuart Noble scored a deflected equaliser for the Saints in between.

St.Johnstone tried to make a comeback in the second period but never really threatened the Clyde goal and, in fact, the home side came closest to adding to the scoreline through Millen (twice) and a Mark McLaughlin header that hit the bar.

A full match report with reaction and pictures will appear in the ‘Fixtures / Results’ section soon.

The other results in the Division 1 were:-

Falkirk 4 v 1 Arbroath
Queen of the South 0 v 1 Alloa
Ross County 2 v 0 St.Mirren
