Arbroath 1 V 2 Clyde
Standard of performance was again secondary to the end result yesterday at Gayfield as Clyde wrapped up another impressive 3 points to maintain their title challenge.
Clyde started brightly and took a deserved early lead through Willie Falconer, minutes after Alan Kernaghan had hit the bar with a header. Jack Ross then crashed the underside of the bar from 30 yards, and Clyde probably felt disappointed to go in at half-time only 1 up.
David Hagen scored his much awaited (and deserved) first goal of the season to make it 2-0 in the second half, but an Andy Dow free kick made the last 15 minutes nervous. Overall though, a good performance and a better result.
A full match report with reaction will appear in the ‘Fixtures / Results’ section soon.
