4Th Stand Talks Ongoing
Recent results have confirmed that Clyde can, at least for the moment, be genuinely considered title challengers. This leaves one burning question that needs to be answered – will Broadwood meet the SPL stadium requirements by the 31st March deadline?
Director Gerry Dunn was dealing with the now interested Press on the subject today, and he also talked to the website on it.
“North Lanarkshire Council have been very supportive on this issue, and along with Clyde have a very strong will to complete work at Broadwood,” Gerry explained.
“Discussions are ongoing and decisions should be made in the near future. The plan for the 4th Stand include an indoor sports hall and indoor football pitch which we feel is vital for the Club, both for our own use and to improve relations with the community. A lot depends on financing.”
“There’s more to the issue than just an extra 2000 seats, but a temporary stand is a possibility we haven’t ruled out. We can’t make any further statement at the moment, but we’re delighted that recent results have put us in the position we’re in.”
