Open Day A Big Success

The Clyde Kid’s Supporters Clubs held their first Open Day on Saturday at Broadwood Stadium. Attended by over 40 children, it gave the members of both Clyde Kids and Clyde Crew an opportunity to meet and mingle with their heroes. As well as manager Alan Kernaghan, coach Billy Reid attended as did around a dozen first team players.

With the home dressing room set up as though for a match, the day began with Alan Kernaghan describing, to a very captive audience, the events that normally take place on match day.

Then it was a chance for the kids to have a chat with their favourite players and have a few pictures taken and even collect some autographs. Alan Kernaghan even conducted a tour for all the children around the stadium showing all the main points of interest.

There was still time to head off to the Astroturf parks at the side of the stadium where the kids split into four teams and a very hectic couple of games of football ensued. One game went to a penalty shoot out to decide the winner.

When the activities ended there was just time to pick up some refreshments which were kindly provided by Golden Wonder. All the kids seemed to have a great time as did many of the parents, with one or two mums even sneaking a photo alongside their favourite player!

An extended thanks goes to Alan Kernaghan, Billy Reid, Andy Millen and all the players present who helped make it such a special day for Clyde’s youngest fans.
