Clyde Safc 1 V 1 Partick Thistle

Clyde went into this match knowing that a draw would be enough to guarantee them progress into the next round of the Inter Division Cup.

Clyde began the game quite sprightly and took a deserved lead through John McCone midway through the first half. A few minutes later John McIlear stuck a terrific shot which came off the bar and fell to Ian Ritchie who somehow managed to miss from a few feet. This gave Thistle some fresh impetus and they soon began taking the game to Clyde and it came as no surprise when they equalised shortly before half time.

Half-time 1-1.

Thistle began the second half the more livlier and soon had Clyde on the back foot, however they failed to capitalise on this and allowed Clyde to slowly get back into the game. Clyde brought on Hunter and Harrison for Mallinson and Kennedy to freshen things up and although both teams had chances, the game ended in a hard fought draw.
