New Supporters’ Bus Launch

The newly formed Kirkintilloch and Cumbernauld Supporters’ Bus will make its first journey tomorrow, to Arbroath.

The branch was formed over the summer when Alan Rennie of the Cumbernauld Branch and Jack Ferguson and Tony McNulty, who had aspirations to form their own branch from Kirkintilloch, decided it would be best to initially merge the ideas.

The Kirkintilloch supporters famously launched their idea last season by taking a boat down the canal to Firhill (pictured above) for the first derby game of the season. It was a very successful week for Jack and Tony, with their efforts gaining column inches in the national press. A packed boat arrived at Firhill, with hopes that it could be continued every week by road. This didn’t happen last season but, along with the steady Cumbernauld influence, it’s hoped that the new bus will now go from strength to strength this season.

There are still places left for tomorrow’s game, so if you are interested please contact Jack (0141 578 1311), Tony (0141 578 1311) or Alan (01236 616908). Bus stops at Smith’s Hotel Kirkintilloch 11.45am and Broadwood Stadium Cumbernauld 12.00. Cost £9 adults, £6 reduced.
