The Bully Wee lifted the Paul Kelly Memorial Cup this afternoon as three trialists got on the scoresheet in a victory over St Roch’s.
Clyde took the lead inside the opening quarter when a corner was knocked home by Fraser Malcolm.
The lead was doubled with 35 minutes played with a superb goal when Jaikblu MacFarlane showed fine skill to turn away from opponents and hit a swerving shot from distance that dipped over the head of the ‘keeper.
The Candy pulled one back just before the interval after a break down the right flank and a cross from the by-line was converted by a forward in the six-yard box.
The Bully Wee sealed the victory with five minutes remaining when Malcolm chested the ball down to his strike partner, Carlos Lyon, who took a touch before slotting beyond the St Roch’s ‘keeper.
Peter Grant was presented with a trophy at full-time by members of Paul Kelly’s family after a entertaining weekend in his memory.
