MINUTE BY MINUTE
2 mins: A through ball was picked up by the Livi striker (looking suspiciously offside), and his shot was saved then spilled by Halliwell, allowing an easy tap in for Stephen Whalen to make it 1-0.
10 mins: After good play from Fraser, Hinds collects the ball in the box unmarked but his poorish shot was saved by the keeper.
17 mins: David Hagen tries a shot from the edge of the box, which goes just over.
20 mins: A cross from the right is headed in by John Potter for 1-1.
22 mins: Dunn passes the ball out wide to Hinds, who drives into the box and crosses the ball hard across the face of goal, but the Livi defence scramble it away.
24 mins: A Keogh header from a Jack Ross cross is saved.
33 mins: Another Keogh header, this time just wide after a Mensing cross again from the right hand side.
44 mins: The ball breaks loose on the edge of Clyde’s box, and Halliwell tips a snap shot round the post.
HALF-TIME
47 mins: Ross plays a great ball into Keogh’s feet in the box, he turns and shoots but it’s well saved by the Livi ‘keeper.
51 mins: Hagen beats his man out wide on the left and crosses the ball in, Leigh Hinds collects and his shot is well saved.
53 mins: After nice work by Fraser and Paul Kane, Ross fires over a good cross and Keogh heads just over.
75 mins: Mensing drives into the box from the halfway line, and his low shot is saved.
77 mins: Paul Kane has the ball out wide and appears to cross it over, but the ball flies over the keeper and into the far corner of the net for 2-1 Clyde.
88 mins: After a mix up in the Livi defence, trialist Livio Gross collects the ball in the box and puts a low shot in for 3-1.
91 mins: A Livingston player receives the ball at the back post and his deflected shot hits the post.
FULL-TIME
Overall: Not a bad game considering it was a fairly low key friendly, and Clyde did well in patches. They were always in control and created far more chances. There were some good individual performances, and fitness would have been gained from the match which was played at a good pace from the start. It’s too early to tell but it was encouraging enough.
HOW DID THEY PLAY?
Halliwell: Didn’t really have a lot to do but made a mistake for Livi’s goal. It would be unfair to judge him with so little action though.
Mensing: A good solid performance and contributed a lot going forward.
Potter: Solid at the back for Clyde and looked determined to win the match.
Smith: Read the game well and didn’t do anything wrong.
Fraser: A very good game for John, played some good passes about the pitch and was good going forward.
Ross: A good shift down the right wing and 3 or 4 excellent crosses.
Dunn: Drifted in and out of the game but contributed well in spells. Maybe more comfortable in midfield than out wide?
P.Kane: Was quiet for long spells of the match but used his experience well.
Keogh: Was always a threat in the air and led the line well.
Hinds: Some nice touches from Leigh and he worked hard but I’d still say he’s capable of more.
Hagen: The game passed him by sometimes but when he got the ball he was always a threat on the left wing and had some decent crosses.
Jose Carlos Asin (GK): Spanish trialist who, like Bryn, didn’t have a lot to do so it would be hard to judge him, but he handled a couple of crosses quite nicely.
Convery: Worked hard and was eager, but didn’t see a lot of the ball.
A.Kane: Didn’t really get a chance to show what he can do.
Livio Gross (No. 17): Swiss trialist who looked lively up front and scored, definitely worth a second look.
Arian Hysini (No. 13): Another Swiss trialist, but he didn’t have time to get involved. Played in the middle of the park.
Gilhaney: Didn’t have time to get involved.
Reid: Was only on for 5 minutes but was too keen and blasted a couple of shots over. One for the future though.
