Recap
Clyde won the East Kilbride Invitational Tournament and lifted the Tommy McGrane memorial cup today after beating Auchinleck Talbot 6-0.
Clyde’s first goal came from the penalty spot after a foul on Gary Arbuckle, on Saturday Paul McHale was the penalty marksman but on this occasion he gave way to Stephen O’Donnell who made no mistake. It was a dream start and Clyde continued to impress. Gary Arbuckle fighting hard for a new contract hit a brace following assists by Craig Bryson and Dougie Imrie respectively. Imrie who shone throughout the first half also got his reward prior to the break with the Bully Wee’s fourth goal.
Clyde scored their 5th in the second half with Bryson finishing an excellent move in style. The scoring was not over and Clyde’s sixth came from a trialist who spotting the Talbot keeper off his line lobbed the ball in great fashion into the net.
It was an excellent performance and capped a fine weekend for the club as the Under 19 players alongside the senior squad demonstrated their potential and worth to the club.
