Looking Forward

Joe Miller spoke at length to the website this evening on the eve of the trip North to face Ross County. Despite the heartbreaking defeat on penalties last weekend it was not a despondent man that spoke rather, it was a coach committed to seeing Clyde succeed:-

“I believe we have a great group of players at this club; a squad who want to stay and grow with Clyde. They all love being here, enjoy the team spirit and camaraderie with each other, alongside, the opportunity that exists of playing regular first team football. It is that which is key. In this day and age players can move on more easily than ever before but the guys here know they are in the midst of something special.

“I honestly believe we have the talent here to do very well in this league. What we need to do is build consistency into our play and get the results our performances deserve. When we lose we need to bounce back quickly and to their credit the players have done that this year. The players are constantly learning, setbacks happen but they will become better individuals for it.

“Sunday was disappointing but all along I have said to the players that the challenge cup was a bonus. I could not have asked for anything more from the players last weekend they gave their all and they made me proud and that is what I said immediately after the penalty shoot out.

“There is still much more to play for in this season and that is what we have to aim for in the months ahead and by the fans, board and players working together we will succeed.”
