PREVIEW: Clyde v Celtic Colts

Mon, 22nd Nov 2021 5:33pm

The Bully Wee return to action tomorrow evening as they kick off their 2021-22 City of Glasgow Cup campaign against Celtic Colts at Broadwood.

Danny Lennon is likely to use the match to give game time to players who have been on the fringes of the squad in recent weeks, and he will also be able to call upon the services of those Clyde players currently out on loan at Lowland League clubs.

The Clyde manager spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

"I look forward to the Glasgow Cup ties, they always have a good competitive nature to them. There’s a few in the squad who have been waiting very patiently for a chance and we can only judge them in training at the moment. Now they’ve got a great opportunity to go out there and impress, and prove they can have a positive impact when called upon."

Lennon made headlines two years ago when he was forced to come on as a sub against the young Hoops side due to an injury crisis, but he is not planning a repeat on this occasion:-

"As much as I’m tempted, I think I’ll give it a miss this year. Thankfully the squad is sitting quite healthy at the moment!"
