PREVIEW: Queen's Park v Clyde

Fri, 12th Nov 2021 4:00pm

It's Derby Day tomorrow as The Bully Wee travel to face old Glasgow rivals Queen's Park at Firhill.

The Spiders currently sit in second place in the cinch League 1 table, just a point off the top. The sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Broadwood earlier in the season, with David Goodwillie levelling the scores in the last minute.

Clyde are likely to have the same squad available that faced Dumbarton last Saturday.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“Queen’s Park will provide another stiff test, but we have to build upon the valuable point we won last week. It was good to receive something for our efforts and I have to give the players credit; we conceded a late goal but played good controlled football from the restart and we got our reward. If we see more of that we’ll have more opportunities to get points on the board and hopefully win games.

"I’m very much looking forward to the game though there is no doubt that it will be a tough challenge against a team who are one of the favourites for the league. I’ve seen a real hunger, desire and determination from our players in the last couple of games and I’ve started to see glimpses again of the brand of football we want to play and the confidence is slowly coming back.

"I thought the fans were absolutely outstanding last week down at Dumbarton on a miserable day. We know the passion that they have and how they can help lift the team. Derby days are always special and we hope come 5pm that we can give our supporters the bragging rights."
