PREVIEW: Dumbarton v Clyde

Fri, 5th Nov 2021 8:03pm

Clyde make the short trip to Dumbarton in cinch League 1 action.

The Sons ran out 3-0 winners at Broadwood on the opening day of the season, but currently sit just one place above the Bully Wee in the table.

Clyde will be looking to bounce back from a poor run of form over the past few weeks, and Danny Lennon will have Barry Cuddihy and Ally Love back in contention for the matchday squad after the pair returned to training this week.

The Clyde manager spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“I thought the attitude, work-rate and intensity last week was a lot better and that was the pleasing aspect. Unfortunately, it didn’t accumulate into a positive result for us, but there was something there that gave us a bit more belief. We are working very hard to put things right, and if we continue to put that application and desire in as a team then I certainly believe the points will come.

“Games at Dumbarton are usually tight affairs. The result on the opening day is still one that hurts us. They’re not on a great run themselves at this moment in time, but we still need to make sure we turn up on Saturday and work the hardest to prove we want the win the most. We’ll be doing everything in our power to make sure that it’s the boys in the Clyde jersey’s that come away with the points.

”The supporters were fantastic last week, especially with what they have had to go through in the last month. The players are hurting and we want to turn this corner for the fans, their backing is always important in every single game and tomorrow is no different.”
