PREVIEW: Clyde v Dumbarton

Fri, 30th Apr 2021 5:10pm

Clyde face Dumbarton at Broadwood tomorrow, in what is a crucial match as the curtailed 2020-21 League 1 season nears its end.

The match is, of course, being played behind closed doors. Season Card holders have access to the Clyde FC Live stream via their card balance integration.

All other supporters of both clubs can purchase a pay-per-view ticket for £12. Click here for full details.

The Sons currently sit in eighth place, two points ahead of The Bully Wee, with two games remaining for each club.

Following last night's defeat at Forfar Athletic, Marky Munro will be unavailable through suspension and Kevin Nicoll is also a doubt for the match, due to an injury he picked up during the game at Station Park.

Another player who will miss the game tomorrow - and the rest of the season - is Tom Lang, who requires an operation for an injury the defender suffered recently.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game and first of all addressed the situation with Lang:-

"Tom got an MRI scan earlier this week and it’s shown up that there is damage there. He is now scheduled to get surgery in the middle of May, so unfortunately he will miss the remainder of the season."

The Clyde manager continued by discussing the Dumbarton match:-

"A lot of things change in football. A few seasons ago we were down the bottom end of League 2 and Dumbarton were sitting two leagues above us in the Championship and now, at this business end of a season that’s had a lot of twists and turns, we’re now both fighting for the right to stay in League 1.

"It really doesn’t matter how you got here, who is in the better form or who has injuries or suspensions - what matters tomorrow is who wants to win the most and who will give every last ounce of energy to get the job done to come out on top.

"There’s certainly a lot to play for and we’re all doing all that we can to try and get the best results for ourselves, to finish this challenging season on a positive note."
