PREVIEW: St. Johnstone v Clyde

Fri, 16th Apr 2021 8:47pm

Clyde travel to Perth tomorrow to take on Premiership side St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, in the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup.

It's the first match between the sides since 2009 and the last meeting in the Scottish Cup ended in a 2-0 win for The Bully Wee, all the way back in the 1938-39 season.

David Mitchell remains a doubt ahead of the tie, with fellow 'keeper David Wilson and midfielder Michael McGlinchey unavailable due to being cup tied.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

"It's a game we're going to go and enjoy. We'll go and hopefully give a good account of ourselves against a good side that have already won silverware and going very well in the league.

"We know it's going to be a challenge, but these are the games you strive for. In the cup, it's a one-off game, anything can happen and it takes you away from the nitty-gritty and the pressures of the league. We won't be thinking ahead of what lies beyond the tie, tomorrow is our main focus and whatever happens will happen.

"We'll dust ourselves down from the Dumbarton game. I haven't got a full report on the state of the players yet, as the demands of the games start to take their toll on us. We have to be very careful with a few.

"I'd like to thank Callum Davidson and St. Johnstone for agreeing to a later kick-off time, given our schedule. It's good to see that there are some people who still care about our wider game."

You can watch the match live via St Johnstone's streaming platform for a £12.50 pay-per-view fee. Click here to go to the SaintsTV website.
