PREVIEW: Clyde v Kilmarnock

Mon, 9th Nov 2020 8:27pm

Clyde take a break from League 1 duty this week, with the remaining two matches of the Betfred Cup group stage, starting with the visit of Kilmarnock to Broadwood tomorrow night.

The match is, of course, being played behind closed doors due to the current Covid-19 situation. Season Card holders have access to the Clyde FC Live stream via their card balance integration.

All other supporters of both clubs can purchase a pay-per-view ticket for £10. Click here for full details.

Killie currently sit bottom of the group, after a forfeit against Falkirk and a 3-0 loss against Dunfermline. The Bully Wee have picked up three points so far, with a win against Dumbarton and a defeat away to Falkirk.

As per governing bodies' requirements when facing a Premiership club, all Clyde players and necessary first team staff have taken a Covid-19 test ahead of the match and all results returned negative. This with the exception of defender Craig Howie, who was already self-isolating before the testing took place and will therefore not take part in the match.

Otherwise, Cameron Palmer will continue to miss out due to injury and Tom Lang is doubtful, following a hamstring problem during Saturday's match at Airdrie.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the match:-

"It's been a tough start to the season and it's been inconsistent. We have eight players that are new to the club, which is more than a third of the playing squad. It's also a young team, who all have very good potential to help continue the forward momentum of the club of the past few years.

"The main challenge we have, as coaching staff and players, is fulfilling that potential, week in week out on a consistent basis. I certainly believe that's the hallmark of every great team. We all have to ensure that when the team pull on that famous Clyde jersey, they do the club extremely proud."
