PREVIEW: Clyde v Falkirk

Fri, 28th Feb 2020 9:40pm

Clyde return to Broadwood in Ladbrokes League 1 action tomorrow, as Falkirk make the short trip to Cumbernauld.

In the two previous meetings between the sides this season, The Bully Wee have come away with 1-0 victories, at home in August and at The Falkirk Stadium in October.

Midfielder John Rankin is expected to return to the Clyde squad following the midweek defeat at Dumbarton.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the match:-

"In the past couple of games, there have been a few aspects of our performance that I have been pleased about. The majority of our play has been good, but of course there is room for improvement. What we have really been lacking recently is being ruthless and sticking the ball in the back of the net, which is the hardest thing to do in football. That along with that some individual errors that have cost us.

"There has been a lot of work, effort and character been put in by both the players and the staff to turn this corner, but it'll only come by putting in the level of performance that I believe this group of players have, with full concentration throughout the 90 minutes. We've worked very hard to eradicate the errors that have cost us and I believe that by doing that we can start turning these narrow defeats into points.

"Our supporters are going to be hugely important for this game. I thought they were terrific away to Raith Rovers and also very vocal on Tuesday night. I totally understand their frustration on Tuesday, the players felt it, the staff and I felt it; but the key thing when you're on a run like this is to stick together. We’ve proven in the past that when we do, we're more formidable and we're a lot stronger."
