PREVIEW: Clyde v Montrose

Fri, 4th Oct 2019 1:44pm

The Bully Wee return to Broadwood tomorrow for a Ladbrokes League 1 meeting with Montrose.

The match signals the end of the first quarter of the 2019-20 campaign, with Clyde hoping to maintain their place in the play-off positions following an excellent away win at Dumbarton last week.

Ross Lyon will return to the matchday squad following injury, but Declan Fitzpatrick and Kristoffer Syvertsen continue to be ruled out. David Goodwillie will also serve the second of his two-game suspension.

Speaking to the official website today, Danny Lennon said:-

"It was a very good performance last week at Dumbarton, especially in the first half when we played some really good football, but just without the end product. The players answered the questions that we asked of them at half-time, but there were still lessons to be learned overall.

"We know Montrose well and I think they are in a false position at the moment. They had a great result against Peterhead last week. Our main focus tomorrow however is making our own improvement again, as we always aim to do in every match. We'll need to achieve that to get the three points that we want.

"Our fans always travel well, but last week I thought they took it to another level - it was exceptional. As much as I'm asking the players to raise their level, I think the supporters did that as well and it was great to see. I'm sure there will be great atmosphere at Broadwood again tomorrow."
