PREVIEW: Clyde v Edinburgh City

Fri, 1st Mar 2019 8:44pm

Clyde host fellow promotion hopefuls Edinburgh City at Broadwood tomorrow, in what's undoubtedly the pick of the day's matches in Ladbrokes League 2.

It's the third meeting of the sides so far in the 2018-19 season, with honours even after a win for The Citizens in August and a victory for The Bully Wee in November. Two points currently separate the clubs, both chasing leaders Peterhead.

For Clyde, Chris McStay and Ally Love are expected to return to the squad. Kris Syvertsen, however, is doubtful due to a neck injury.

Speaking to the official website this evening, Danny Lennon said:-

"This type of game is always exciting, when two teams meet that are competing for the same thing. However, nothing changes in terms of how we will approach the game and, regardless of what happens, it won't define our season; there will still be a lot of points to play for.

"To be involved at the top end of a league going into the closing stages - that's why we're all involved in football, players and coaches, and you've got to enjoy it first and foremost.

"I thought we were very good on Tuesday night. It maybe wasn't our best performance in terms of what we did in possession, but we were very controlled and managed the game well. We've spoken about learning from the late goals we lost against Annan and Queen's Park and we've got to keep that going.

"Our fans have been terrific and we had a fantastic turnout at both Hampden and Forthbank. We now return to Broadwood and it would be great if we could push it even further in terms of creating an atmosphere for the players to thrive in."
