School of the Month – St Joseph’s Primary

Clyde FC and the Clyde Community Foundation are delighted to invite all pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School in Stepps to The Bully Wee’s next home match, against league leaders Edinburgh City on Saturday.

It’s the first instance of a new ‘School of the Month’ initiative being organised by the Foundation, which will see a local school invited to Broadwood each month for a first team match.

Tom Elliott visited St Joseph’s last week along with manager, Danny Lennon and first team player, Ray Grant to launch the programme, which encourages pupils to support their local team at Broadwood.

Tom said: “It was great to join the primary 5 class at St Joseph’s Primary and the children definitely enjoyed the Q&A session with Danny and Ray. We are looking forward to as many children as possible from the school joining us on Saturday.

“One lucky pupil will also win the chance to be a matchday mascot and lead the first team onto the pitch.

“We’re entering an exciting period of football over the coming months and we look forward to welcoming more schools along to Broadwood.”

All pupils have been given a free match voucher to attend the match on Saturday, which also provides entry for an accompanying adult for £5.

Danny Lennon was thrilled that there will be more children and parents at upcoming matches. “It was great to meet the class and talk to them,” he said. “It’s important to support your local club and this initiative is a great way to sample a professional football match on your doorstep.”
