PREVIEW: Clyde v Elgin City

Fri, 21st Sep 2018 3:31pm

Clyde will host Elgin City at Broadwood tomorrow in Ladbrokes League 2.

Both sides have enjoyed a positive start to the season - occupying third and fifth places in the table - and both following on from a victory last weekend.

The Bully Wee have an injury doubt over Jack Boyle (back) but otherwise a full squad is expected to be available.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website this afternoon:-

"We've been happy so far, apart from the Edinburgh match. It's been a decent start but still with room for improvement. We've now followed two defeats with two victories and it's now a case of, what way we will go.

"We need to find consistency and the players know that if they fail to turn up in any game then they will be lucky to take anything from it. We're aiming to reach the same standards every week and myself and the staff are pushing really hard for that.

"There were positives in our performance last week but we know that we could - and should - have had more goals. We've worked hard this week on making the right choices in the final third and converting more of our chances.

"Elgin have also made a decent start and they had a great away result last week after a long journey, so we need to be wary of that and ready for the challenge that they will bring.

"It was great to see an increase in the home crowd last week and I thought they were really good and got on board with the game very well, especially in the first half. We will certainly need that again tomorrow. I know I'm repeating it and it's an old cliché, but I don't think the supporters realise how much their energy can pass down to the team on the pitch."
